The Story of David Gilkes Removals
David Gilkes Removals started with a van and a dream. David bought a very small van to help a friend move a sofa back in 1980s, and soon after, the orders started flying in and the business grew.
20 years later, Matt followed in his father's footsteps and bought a new vehicle, but this was an 18 tonne truck! The biggest we've ever had, and we all thought he was mad.
Now, we have 3x 18 tonne trucks and a fleet of 9 vehicles! 2 of David's sons Matt and Chris have joined to grow the business into what it is today and continued to keep this business family-run, and stay true to David's vision and ethos.
Now in 2025, we have sons, cousins, daughters, husbands and wives, couples and babies all part of the Gilkes Removals family, all working hard to make David Gilkes Removals into the excellent company it is.
